Shades of Burning

I’m a little lobster looking and feeling well and truly sorry for myself.
I pride myself on avoiding the sun as much as possible. Just glad when the sun comes it also brings the warmth! However, leaving for Alnwick this morning we saw nothing but threatening rain-clouds. Getting just 40 minutes ride north and we are in fantastic sunshine and me with no hat… no suncream… Not good.
I could do with some cold compresses or being soaked in after-sun.. Gah! ![]()

A bit Wonky today
August 27, 2008 | Leave a Comment
On the recommendation of a friend I went off to a ‘Wellness’ Clinic today to see about all my stupid problems, namely my creaky joints!
The consultant I went to see is a chiropractor and I went for my free ‘talk’! We didn’t talk long, apart from me explaining what was up then she took me out to take a photo of my posture.. Ahem. Here’s me meant to be the person who knows how much bad posture can affect you and I am the one suffering the most! To sum it up, I am a bit wonky - I go this way, then that and then back the other way. Which explains my shoulder problem then but still not sure why I have dodgy knees but that might be explained next week when I go to a proper session and spend a great deal of money!
Later I popped off to see Mamma Mia with some people from work. I didn’t really know what to expect. I mean I knew it was a musical, but wasn’t sure whether it was going to be my thing. I WAS singing by the end and trying to start off everyone clapping… hehehe
We should have gone to see the Sing-A-Long version and we might just do that yet!
Tomorrow I am off to Alnwick Castle/Garden and have just watched my Mother prepare food for an army!

York

We (my Mother and I) decided to hop on the train down to York today - an easy but expensive trip!
It was for nothing more than a day trip out, but we secretly hoped to find something different than our usual excursion into Town. However, all high streets these days are replicants of each other and if it wasn’t for the few ’boutique’ type stores we found near the Shambles we would have been out of luck!
We did find a cool shop by the name of The Japanese Shop. The name gives the type of store away but great nonetheless. It was packed out and there were a few items in their that I could have bought! If, of course, they weren’t some of the most expensive in there! I nearly bought myself a Lucky Cat and well my Mother nearly got me another Kokeshi doll, contemplated a £100 bag for our friends big 4-0 next week… Also, some of the art was quite good and surely would have come home with me if I had the money and somewhere to put it…
All we ended up buying from the whole day was tea from Betty’s Tea Shop, some Fudge from the Fudge Kitchen and a present for our friend.
But at least we weren’t in Town, it’s nice to get out of the routine for a bit!

Jacqui is having a Bridget Jones moment and singing loudly to ‘All by myself’ by Eric Carmen.
How the hell that got on my iTunes is anyone’s guess!

Not that again!

My Mam has such mad timing with her suggestions lately. If it’s not about ‘Turkey Basters‘ it’s about finding myself a little friend!
She has progressed from trying to suggest I find a man to a ‘little friend’. I s’pose it is easier to say than… girlfriend! *rolls eyes*
Then she went on to the normal motherly tone.. “I just want you to be happy, I won’t be here forever [to go on holidays]“. Saying something like that when I am already a little emotional AND driving the car is probably not the best idea! *blubs* :’(
